New paintings created in 2010. Most of these are acrylic on canvas, though there are a few pastels in there.
Mostly the sizes are small 8×10″, 8×8″, 6×6″, 9×12″, etc. Many in this batch were exhibited in Holland earlier this year in April. About half of the paintings in this section are still available, check in the description area when clicking on the thumbnail.

All these paintings are acrylics on canvas in a pretty small size, mostly 8×10″, 6×6″, 8×8″ and a few other odd sizes. Pretty much all of them have sold [if one is available - it is noted in the description when you click on the thumbnail] I had been playing with the child-oriented theme since my Nashville period and this style has become more and more my own since moving to New York in 2008. People often ask me why i paint children and/or if there’s a special reason for this.
I think it’s really just the childlike state that I like to portray and keep reminding myself and others of. I worked in a daycare while living in Nashville and became an aunt to two beautiful little nieces over the past 3 years, which has definitely inspired me, but beyond that I think there was just a natural progression and feeling of “right” when I allowed myself to take a more and more whimsical and simplistic approach to painting.

Paintings 2009/2010

All these paintings were done in the period from summer 2009 to winter 2010. I haven’t shown them yet in a show/gallery. Most of them are larger in size than what i usually work in. They definitely have a darker tone to them than the other work I’ve been producing in these last two years. I feel that it’s good to explore and express the different range of emotion that exists and these are a product of diving in to the darker side of things, though I wouldn’t necessarily classify them as ‘dark’, they still have quite some brightness to them. They are just less whimsical and childlike than the other work I’ve been doing.

These are some works from 2008 and 2009, some were done in Nashville and some were done right after I moved to New York in 2008. They feel like a bit of a mish-mash of styles and subjects. They are just a small selection of work that I did in this period. Many of these were exhibited in my first show in Rotterdam, [Netherlands] and some were shown here in NYC in an exhibit I did in January 2008.

These are a selection of the earliest paintings that I did.
I started painting with acrylics in this period in Nashville. They were shown at small exhibit places in Nashville, some sold, some are still available.
