I will share with you a little bit a bout this book. It was written and illustrated in 2016. While I was on a trip in England - Cornwall- with my partner and child, we were driving through the beautiful countryside. My baby was only 2 and she was car sick, so I was sitting in the back holding her on my lap. I looked out the window at the bright sky and I was struck with inspiration. Words came to me -though I do not consider myself a writer as such- I jotted everything down. The first poems for what would become Here You Are were there. I knew I had to create a book for these and stayed very open during the rest of the trip to create (and receive) more words and images.

It was also in this time that I was reading an Eckhart Tolle book and I think my work was influenced by this. The messaging in Here You Are is all about staying connected, in the present moment. Being aware(ness), of oneself, one’s surroundings, the bigger picture. The questions around what is reality, it is all in this book. The super simplistic style of writing though makes it accessible for little ones. It is geared towards them. Having made children’s books before it was only the natural way for this to become one too. I still believe that regardless of its childlike presentation it is a book just as well for us adults to enjoy and take in.

This was very much affirmed when i first started selling the book. Back in my then home town NYC I sold the book in several large market events in the city. The reception to the book was amazing. This edition you see now is the third one.
