My Body My Home is based on the practice of yoga nidra. It is the perfect mindful bedtime book for little ones ages 1-6. Yoga nidra is a form of yoga where one lies down on the back and mindfully ‘visits’ each part of the body. Becoming aware of the body part in an experiential way, from the inside out. Doing this calms the mind, grounds us into the body and sets one up wonderfully for a deep sleep/rest.
It creates a positive body awareness in the most simple and direct way.
The way this book helps us do this is through the colorful illustrations of animal’s particular body parts and short verses/rhymes that mainly speak of giving thanks and appreciation to these body parts. Highlighting all the good that our bodies do for us.
