Commissioned 'talisman' pieceI say talisman in the title as this painting is created very intentionally to help heal and send energy to the commissioner and all the spirit animals and tokens are very specifically chosen.
Where you begin and I end, where I begin and you endThis painting is about the fluidity and the boundaries that exist between us as we are in relation to another. It can be hard to find the lines- where one person’s ‘stuff’ is and where the other’s is. In the essence it’s all connected energy, in the material world we have to navigate the boundaries.
DeerStraight out of a dream, this painting celebrates the deer, as i watched one jump over head in a night time dream and experienced awe and amazement- also slightly fearful as the immensity and power of the deer was palpable.

The VeilAcrylic on canvas board 16x20”The painting i felt like making is a young woman cloaked in a veil who experiments with reality as she moves her hand outside the veil, makes some waves in the field of energy. For me this expresses the idea that we are in collaboration with what 'reality' is and how it moves. maybe there are as many realities as there are moments, minds, hearts, dreams, colors.. and so forth. At the bottom i added black holes. I got my daughter a beautiful book about our universe and reading about them, thinking about them, is mind-boggling and exhilarating as it points to such grand mystery. I love to dwell in that Mystery.
The Lap of the MotherAcrylic on canvas board 16x20”…We did a yin style, restorative class in which she gave us a lot of meditation time. As we lay there she said: '...and it is ALL held in the lap of the great mother.' This formed into an image right away and i took it as a prompt. Like a first meal after having fasted (i imagine- i'm not a good fast-er ;) the image/painting felt careful but clear, gentle but powerful. I painted elements of my recent dreams into it- a treasure chest with gold, bears, a butterfly. My teacher, me and my friend. Also death showed up represented as a casket. As awareness in the class- grieving for all and all that is lost. And music and the shell.. All swirling around in the great big Lap of The Mother
